Rally in the Alley
September 5 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm MDT

On Aug. 29, 1910, President Teddy Roosevelt came through Denver and attended the Denver Press Club‘s Chuckwagon Lunch as part of his stay. The event featured the president enjoying a meal slow roasted over red hot coals of burnt cow patties, otherwise known as “bovine cooking material.” The “material” was gathered by 500 cattlemen, according to Alan Kania’s “The Denver Press Club” and the Colorado Magazine.
While the club no longer uses cow patties as fuel, we continue to shoot the “material” each year at the club‘s “Rally in the Alley” barbecue celebration. Hosted by BBQ master John Head will be serving up the fixings. Twenty bucks gets you a seat on Sept. 5 at one of our best annual events of the year…and a very full belly. See you there.
