An interactive discussion on the basics of news literacy: How can the average news consumer differentiate between sourced, balanced coverage and the “fake news” that proliferates online and on social media? A state senator, two journalists and a high school teacher will discuss the need for news literacy and some techniques for gauging the credibility of news sources and reports.
