Happy hour at DPC to feature author Cynthia Swanson

Award-winning Denver author Cynthia Swanson will speak at the Denver Press Club on Thursday, Oct. 23, during a Colorado Press Women happy hour event, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Swanson is the author of three books of psychological suspense, often using historical settings. She will read from her third, most recent novel, “Anyone But Her,” which won the 2025 Colorado Book Award (Thriller), was a finalist for the 2025 WILLA Literary Award (Mystery/Thriller), and was named 2024 Best Mystery/Thriller by the Indie Author Project.
Her debut novel, “The Bookseller,” was a New York Times bestseller, an Indie Next selection, the winner of the 2016 WILLA Literary Award (Historical Fiction), and is slated to be a motion picture produced by Julia Roberts. “The Bookseller” is translated into 18 languages.
Her second novel, “The Glass Forest,” was a USA Today bestseller, a CAL Award finalist, and is translated into seven languages. She lives with her family in Denver. She is also the editor of the anthology “Denver Noir,” which received the 2023 Colorado Book Award (Anthology), and an instructor at Lighthouse Writers Workshop. Her books will be available for sale at the event.
