Extra!extra presents: lil piñon with Lauren Gale
October 24 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm MDT
Extra!extra At The DPC: Once a month, we climb the steps of the DPC to bask in a glorious collision of great music and great ideas. An intimate experience featuring Denver and occasionally touring artists.
We pair each headliner with a short (5-15 minute) and lively expert presentation on a topic that affects YOU.
Our Grand Opening last month, featuring touring artist Nat Lefkoff, was a hit with both longtime members and guests — so call your friends and add our next show to your calendar NOW. (Tickets may sell out.)
About lil piñon and “Don’t Even Trip”: “Don’t Even Trip” is the debut album from lil piñon, which is the nom-de-guerre of Joshua Randy Abeyta, a singer-songwriter-lyricist from Denver, CO. This album, 20 years in the making, is his life’s work, a culmination of 2 decades with songs written everywhere from a jail cell to the back porch of his first home. These songs are inspired by the 7 generations that came before us, and the 7 generations to come and speak on the growth, discipline, sacrifice and awareness it takes to grow from a boy, to a man, to an elder.
Check out the album here before the show so you can sing along to your favorite parts. Grab your dancing shoes. We cannot wait to see you all boogie!
