AI at the Capitol

October 20 @ 6:30 pm MDT

The Denver Press Club is hosting a free seminar on how to use artificial intelligence (AI) to understand legislation, ballot measures and public policy.

The basic idea: AI can help people make sense of complicated government policies, conduct research and prepare for advocacy work, but users need to know how to check its accuracy and protect sensitive information.

The seminar will cover how to use AI to:

  • Translate complicated bills and regulations into plain English.
  • Analyze legislation and ballot measures.
  • Prepare questions for meetings, public testimony and advocacy campaigns.
  • Develop talking points and public communications.
  • Recognize when AI produces incorrect, biased or poorly sourced information.
  • Protect confidential information when using AI tools.

Who is presenting? Henry “Corky” Kyle III, a public affairs professional with more than 40 years of experience working with Colorado’s state Legislature and regulatory agencies. He has also been featured on CBS Colorado for his approach to using AI to analyze ballot measures.
