DESCRIPTION:Monthly Series\nWe are taking those online arguments and using them to bring people together in productive conversation. \nThe first topic will be the controversial construction for Denver’s Colfax Bus Rapid Transit project\, and whether people think it will help or hurt the city\, its people\, its infrastructure\, and those who need to commute through it. \nPanelists include\nJill Locantore — Executive Director\, Denver Streets Partnership. In favor of Colfax BRT and Colorado BRT. \nJosiah Kim — owner of Lilac Coffee on East Colfax Avenue. Currently in the Middle of heavy construction for the Colfax BRT. \nMike Hughes — West Corridor Transportation Management Association. Generally in favor of BRTs\, but has harsh criticisms of the Colfax BRT construction and the Colorado BRT proposal. \nDana Busch — Resident (Hilltop/Wash Park/Cherry Creek); Doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology\, Master’s in Public Health. Strongly opposed to Colorado BRT\, particularly citing concerns with easements and sidewalks\, along with the Colfax BRT implementation\, and how it affected small businesses. \nWhat’s to come with the series: \n\nA board of panelists will discuss controversial local issues\nAt 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month\nThe panelists are professionals\, educators and local advocates\nTickets are free\, but we ask that you RSVP\nDonations to the club are always appreciated\n\nPlease RSVP here
