Sep 28: Hot Picks in Cold Beer
They will do a brief talk about the history of beer-making, arching from the 16th-century passage of the Reinheitsgebot (the German law for beer purity) to the present day level of experimentation being led worldwide by American craft brewers. And as they do this, they'll pour and talk about four Colorado beers as examples of both the old-world and new-world styles.
Those will be:
* Bierstadt Lagerhaus Slow Pour Pils
* Weldwerks Alpha Bits, a hazy IPA from Colorado's hottest brewer;
* Upslope Pumpkin Ale, recognized as the best pumpkin beer made in Colorado; and,
* Ska Pink Vapor Stew, a sour ale made with beets, carrots, apple and ginger.
